Graduation 2015

Posted on: 17 Dec, 2015

Graduation is a highly anticipated event in any student’s academic journey and is an important day which celebrates the nights of sacrifice. The long hours, moments of doubt and difficult decisions of choosing between spending time with family and friends versus studying, have all led up to the moments where one crosses the stage. Moving the tassel from right to left and accepting the certificate is the moment that is highly anticipated by many. Walking across the stage and shaking the hands of the representative from the accrediting body is a privilege that not everyone is able to attain.

This year, CTS College was joined by the High Commissioner of Australia, Mr. H.E. Ross Tysoe, Professor Rod Oxenberry from the Australian Institute of Business, Dr. Nathan Baddoo and Dr. Susan Martin representing the University of Hertfordshire. The directors of CTS College stood proud as they watched the students whom they have grown fond of, gracefully cross the stage. Master of ceremonies, Mr. Suruj Ragoonath displayed his sense of humour, ensuring that ambiance was celebratory. Staff, friends and family all united for the afternoon, lending support and shedding tears of joy. Members of the academic staff also walked across the stage.

The directors, with adoration and love, presented the director’s award to two students that exemplified what CTS College encompasses. The awards were presented to Alaina Ramoutar of the BBA programme, and Marcus Alexander of the BSc. degree. A well rounded speech that showcased the CTS College student experience was thoughtfully delivered by the valedictorian, Someet Ramroop. To close off the ceremony, Alaina took the stage, thanking all who had participated. The ceremony was closed off by Mr. Suruj Ragoonath, and then participants enjoyed the festivities of the dinner. Mr. Francis Prime, a saxophonist and vocalist, Ayanah Gordon-Wallace provided the serenades for the afternoon.

CTS graduation was held in Hyatt Regency Hotel, with elegant decorations and superb food. The evening passed without a hitch, much to the delight of all the participants. Members of the social events committee also experienced firsthand the preparation and tasks involved in the delivery of this event. Special thanks to all those who have contributed their time and effort to making the 2015 graduation ceremony a massive success.
