As organizations look towards becoming more efficient through cost reductions they are streamlining their training processes to provide training internally. By training trainers organizations can tap into the knowledge and experience of existing staff and relay on these Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) to execute training of junior staff.
The Train the Trainer programme is designed to develop skillsets that enable trainers, presenters and facilitators to effectively manage the learning experience. Participants will learn concepts in understanding the audience, how they learn, their motivation, learning theories and learning styles, memory and cognitive load theory. The presenter or facilitator will learn the importance of building rapport with his/her audience, communication types including verbal, non-verbal and graphic communications. The trainer will also be introduced to building a lesson plan, effectively writing objectives and the “Nine Events of Instruction”. Good training must also incorporate evaluations. Training is only one element of developing competency. Evaluations must also be incorporated into all training and participants will be thought the levels of evaluations depending on the level of leaning required.
The programme is designed to develop trainers for the next level of hybrid training that can be synchronous or asynchronous.
The course is set over four (4) weeks consisting of one three hour session per week amounting to twelve contact hours (12) contact hours.
Train-the-Trainer modules allows the trainer to consider the audience and their characteristics in designing, executing and managing the learning experiences.

Train-the-Trainer is suitable for any aspiring or accomplished trainers, presenters or facilitators. Ideal training settings:
The programme is designed to be very interactive with instructor led all martials being available online. Students are expected to participate in class activities that are designed to develop their skills in particular areas. Students will required to use their knowledge from the lectures to produce materials that they will present in the class room with a final micro-teach session at the end of the programme.
Each student will be required to deliver a multiple-media presentation as part of this class.
This course will be delivered via live online classes. Students who have successfully enrolled in the course will be provided with a link to join the class as well as other relevant instructions at least one day before the start of the class. These classes are also recorded; therefore, students have the option to review the course content as often as they like.

Mrs. Gabriella Roberts-Burke is a Professional Development Facilitator and Trainer. She has over seven years’ experience in education, youth development, and stakeholder relationships. Mrs. Roberts-Burke has a robust background in designing, customizing, executing and evaluating online and on-site training programs and activities for trainees and staff. She has facilitated over 2000 contact hours in Professional Development and Life skills courses utilising both classroom style and lecture style, catering to groups of 20 – 400 participants.
She is equipped with a Masters of Education (Youth Guidance) and a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology with Minors in Communication Studies and Human Resource Management. Additionally, she has attained certification from the University of the West Indies, Open Campus, in Foundations of Facilitation, Timely and Meaningful Assessment, Course Room Facilitation Techniques and from the Association for Talent Development (ATD) in Instructional Design. She is an engaging and enthusiastic instructor whose passion lies in the development and empowerment of others.
