The Fundamentals of Air Conditioning is ideal for home owners; this course helps you with simple maintenance tasks to keep your AC units running smoothly and efficiently and lower your overall cost of ownership. Learn to clean or replace filters, clean the condenser fan and oil the fan motor, resolve weird noises and fix leaking AC units, you will even learn how to gas your AC unit.

Assessment

Exams and Assessments

The program is strongly competency based where the majority of time will be devoted to practical work. Students, with the support of the lecturer, will be required to complete practical assignments on a weekly basis.

At the end of the program candidates will have a written exam and a final practical assignment.

Students will be required too:

  • Install an AC Unit
  • Install and connect Evaporator
  • Install and connect Condenser
  • Gas-up unit
  • Check Compressors and Capacitors
  • Check Control System- Voltage & Components
  • Do Basic Trouble Shooting for DIY

Delivery Mode

Online and Face-to-Face Classes

This course will be delivered via a combination of live online classes as well as face-to-face classes. Students who have successfully enrolled in the course will be provided with a link to join the online class as well as other relevant instructions at least one day before the start of the class. The online classes are also recorded; therefore, students have the option to review the course content as often as they like.

Mr. Garth Dallaway

Mr. Garth Dallaway has over 24 years' experience in the field of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. He has completed the Level I and II Diploma in Refrigeration and Air Condition from both City & Guilds, and The School of Air Condition and Refrigeration.

He is certified in Finance for Non-Finance Professionals from The Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business; and is a Certified Associate in Project Management from the School of Business and Computer Science.
