Having an event and need décor ideas or do you just love Decorating? Then we have an inexpensive, yet classy solution for you.

Ever notice those beautifully decorated backdrop display and photo walls at weddings, birthday parties, baby showers and even in interior design for home?

CTS College offers a new suite of skilled & practical training workshops that aims to help individuals expand their talent and discover their hidden creativity with paper flower crafting and design.

Who Should Attend?

  • This workshop is open to all skill levels and even beginners
  • Persons who would like to learn a new marketable and creative skill
  • Persons who are in event decorating industry, background and photography set design
  • The “Do it Yourselfers’ DIY and Craft Enthusiast
  • Persons interested in becoming a Paper Flower Artist
  • Persons currently in the events management industry

Tools

This is an all-inclusive workshop; each participant will get their very own starter kit with all materials, instructions and tools to take home.

PAPER CRAFTING KIT includes: Six flower and leaf templates, Paper Embellishments, Crafting Paper, Flower Centers, Glue, Ruler, Paper Cutting Scissors and Gems etc. Each participant gets to create and take home their flowers and decorations done in class.

Learning Outcomes

This workshop is designed to demonstrate the fundamentals of paper flower crafting while working with a design and colour theme in mind.

Upon completion they should be able to:

  • Choosing the correct paper and materials for your design.
  • Successful cutting and assembly of flower petals and leaves.
  • Create over six types of paper flowers in different sizes.
  • Know how to aesthetically display and price finished flowers/display.

Course Content

You will learn the following Method and Techniques:

  • How to use templates for over six different types of flower pattern, leaves and stamens
  • Discuss the various types of paper, cutting methods and adhesives best suited for paper flower crafting
  • How to use flower templates for designing and transferring of patterns to paper
  • Learn to make your own templates for paper flower crafting
  • How to design, plan and colour coordinate and a flower set for a photo background
  • Making flower stamens, leaves and paper embellishments to complete the set
  • How to aesthetically attach and display your crafted items to different surfaces
  • Pricing and Storage of Paper Flowers
  • Question and Answer

Delivery Mode

Face-to-Face Classes

This course will be delivered via face-to-face classes. As such, students who have enrolled in the course would be expected to attend the classes at the designated location.

Assessment

This workshop is a practical/ hands-on training class. Assessment will be done based on the pieces crafted by each participant that will be used in a final display.

Melanie Ramlochan

From an early age crafting and art has always been a love and passion of Ms. Ramlochan. Melanie has skills in paper flowers, event decorations, scrapbooking, and painting. Her first job after leaving high school was selling paper flower decoration and decorating for birthday parties, baby showers and a wedding.

Despite having to temporarily discontinue her work in the field of decorating and crafting to complete her studies at Culinary School, Melanie continued to pass on her crafting skills to younger persons through community summer camps and school events

By profession Ms. Ramlochan is a pastry chef who does unique cakes to the desires and specifications of her customer and uses her creativity and ideas from her time in crafting and decorating to bring the customer’s dream to life.
