To be able to boost your self confidence and feel good about yourself is a major key in de-stressing and coping with your everyday struggles. Some may see the art of makeup as an escape to a world that they want to live in permanently; others may be driven towards making it a profession; while others treat it as simply a hobby. Whatever your reason, the Advanced/Master Makeup Class is definitely for you!

The Advanced/ Master Class delves deep into the unique techniques and advanced makeup looks that are trending today. This class is also very suitable for but not limited to, those interested in becoming a Makeup Artist, as it provides an in depth knowledge of the profession, along with some tips and tricks. Some of the looks included in this class are bridal and carnival!

This class also includes skin care and skin preparation theories for both yourself and clients.

The aim of this class is to push creativity and explore the world of makeup, while also discovering what you like and what works best for you. The ability to efficiently and effectively cater to clients is also a priority in this class. In addition, a product list of some of my “faves” and “go-to’s”; both low end and high end will be provided.

No makeup tools? No problem! All makeup and makeup tools will be provided for use in class. Upon completion of the class, students will also receive a makeup goodie bag.

Come take your knowledge and love of makeup a step further. Every student will receive one on one attention to ENSURE maximum understanding and perfection of the craft! Whether you want to “beat faces” for a living, do your own makeup for your wedding, or simply “do it for the Gram”, then the Advanced/Master class should be your next decision; you won’t regret it!

Course Objectives

The material for this course will be broken into two (3) main areas of study that gives the student the opportunity to progressively improve their image and confidence: The categories are:

  • Makeup Artistry

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Effectively prime and prep their skin for heavy makeup application, as well as removal and aftercare
  • Be creative and expressive
  • Become a professional in makeup artistry
  • Achieve any look they desire to attend any event

  • Different eyeshadow techniques – eg. Cut crease, smokey, halo effect
  • Tips to ensure makeup lasts long
  • Product use & placement
  • Lip definition & lip techniques (ombre, lip lining etc.)
  • Makeup artist/ client relationship etiquette

Exam(s) and Assessment

There will be 2 assessments throughout the course: the 1st assessment in the 2nd session and the 2nd assessment in the 4th session. The assessments will comprise of both theory and practical. For students who wish to pursue makeup artistry, it is recommended that a face model be present for your assessments (not mandatory).

For the 1st assessment, students will be tested on theory taught in the 1st session. For the practical, a makeup look of the lecturer’s choice will be chosen from social media and students will be expected to replicate on themselves or their model.

In the 2nd assessment, students have the opportunity to be as creative as they wish! Students are allowed to choose whichever makeup look they desire to replicate on either themselves or their models.  Theory from all 3 sessions will be tested.

Ms Monique Hills

Monique Hills is a makeup enthusiast and Makeup Artist based in Trinidad & Tobago. Due to her unique passion and love for makeup, she founded Something Mo' by Monique Hills, which offers makeup and press on nails services for every event. Monique's love for teaching makeup stems from her wanting to empower women and raise self confidence. She is also an advocate for entrepreneurship, which she will touch on in this class.
