Overview

To be able to boost your self confidence and feel good about yourself is a major key in de-stressing and coping with your everyday struggles. Some may see the art of makeup as an escape to a world that they want to live in permanently; others may be driven towards making it a profession; while others treat it as simply a hobby. Whatever your reason, the Advanced/Master Makeup Class is definitely for you!

These Advanced Makeup Classes delves deep into the unique techniques and advanced makeup looks that are trending today. These classes are also very suitable for but not limited to, those interested in becoming a Makeup Artist, as it provides an in depth knowledge of the profession, along with some tips and tricks. Some of the looks included in this class are bridal and carnival!

This class also includes skin care and skin preparation theories for both yourself and clients.

The aim of this class is to push creativity and explore the world of makeup, while also discovering what you like and what works best for you. The ability to efficiently and effectively cater to clients is also a priority in this class. In addition, a product list of some of my “faves” and “go-to’s”; both low end and high end will be provided.

No makeup tools? No problem! All makeup and makeup tools will be provided for use in class.

Come take your knowledge and love of makeup a step further. Every student will receive one on one attention to ENSURE maximum understanding and perfection of the craft! Whether you want to “beat faces” for a living, do your own makeup for your wedding, or simply “do it for the Gram”, then the Advanced/Master class should be your next decision; you won’t regret it!

Course Objectives

The material for this course will be broken into two (3) main areas of study that gives the student the opportunity to progressively improve their image and confidence: The categories are:

  • Skincare
  • Product knowledge
  • Makeup Artistry

Core Learning Outcomes

This programme offers TWO SEPARATE courses:

SEASONAL MAKEUP (1st Option)

A 1 day crash course teaching makeup reflecting the current social season – eg. Carnival Makeup (January-February), Bridal Makeup (March-May), Christmas Glam (November-December) etc}. Only ONE (1) look will be taught per seasonal class.

Participants will learn and practice the following:

  • Use of Tools
  • Proper Skin Prep
  • Foundation Matching
  • Colour Wheel (mostly used in the Carnival class)
  • Full face makeup application (eyebrow enhancement, contouring, highlighting etc.)
  • Waterproofing Makeup Tricks
  • Different eyeshadow techniques – eg. Cut crease, smokey, halo effect (the eyeshadow technique will differ according to which look is being taught)
  • Tips to ensure makeup lasts long
  • Product use & placement
  • Lip definition & lip techniques (ombre, lip lining etc.)

BROWS, WINGS AND LASHES (2nd Option)

A 1 day crash course aimed to help students spice up any makeup look with these 3 simple makeup aspects

Upon completion of this class, students will be able to:

  • Effectively enhance and define their eyebrow shape
  • Learn how to get the perfect winged eyeliner each time
  • Flawlessly apply false eyelashes with ease

Ms Monique Hills

Monique Hills is a makeup enthusiast and Makeup Artist based in Trinidad & Tobago. Due to her unique passion and love for makeup, she founded Something Mo' by Monique Hills, which offers makeup and press on nails services for every event. Monique's love for teaching makeup stems from her wanting to empower women and raise self-confidence. She is also an advocate for entrepreneurship, which she will touch on in this class.
