Rama Mathura - Programme Manager

Programme Manager

Rama was instrumental in establishing the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) courses at CTS College, therefore it was only natural that he was made the DIY Programme Manager. Rama has a passion for the practical, he loves doing and fixing things around the house and enjoys the idea of being the ‘handyman’. His current and past experiences have been strongly tied to technical and vocational skills and he marries this with his love for teaching business. Rama has been a faculty member of CTS for several years where he has taught various subjects in Business and Marketing in the ABE programme. His willingness to go beyond the call to support student landed him a spot on our coveted “Wall of Fame”. Rama, along with Matthew, started off a Student Support Services group at CTS College, whereby they provided, free of charge, support for students with learning challenges who needed a greater level of individual support in their studies. They also encouraged other students to provide peer support as well.

He has a strong respect for hard-working students that are willing to give their effort and attention to their goals. Beyond the academics, he realized the important roles that skills play in a person’s life and thus expands the DIY courses to meet the needs of the students. Rama is known for giving advice, and being a helpful member of staff, giving assistance to events such as the Halloween Haunted House where he utilized spare materials to create figurines, and to bring his co-worker’s ideas to life. He is also passionate about animals and offers his assistance through time and effort invested in Animals Alive.

Rama can easily be considered one of the most approachable members of the team. He is always willing to expand his knowledge, assist others and to exemplify the CTS motto of ‘where education is beyond the academics’.
